the Princess Diana Fund for Children
DBE in Florida commemorated the death of Princess Diana by starting our Princess Diana Fund for Children. This lapsed during Covid, and in 2025, our Lily Habgood Fund became large enough to cover more than our usual Memorial flower tributes. A consensus vote resulted in a revived Princess Diana Fund for Children. At each ACM, the excess in our Lily Habgood Fund will go to a Florida Chapter, in alphabetical order. Their treasurer will be given a check to donate to the children’s charity of their choice.

Princess Diana championed children’s causes, and supported not only a charity for homeless youth, but also other child-focused charities, trusts and hospitals.
This picture shows the bronze statue of Princess Diana with three children, in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace in London. It was commissioned by her sons, Princes William and Harry, to honor her legacy, and unveiled on July 1, 2021, which would have been her 60th birthday.
The three children represent the broad reach of her work with charities and her general love for children, which was a significant part of her life before and during her time as royalty. They help convey that Diana was a warm, gregarious, and compassionate person, not an isolated figure, and is a symbol of her life and the positive impact she had around the world, especially on the lives of young people.
